Bait / 8'52" / Ophelia, 2007
In Bait she embodies an archetype of femininity – that of a girl having a picnic. The landscape and the weather conditions make the picnic, typically innocuous, seem like a potentially hazardous activity, evoking ideas of female vulnerability. 8'52" shows an action relating to the self-disciplinary measures taken by saints. Ophelia comments on the normalisation of the bizarre.
Having completed a Bachelor's degree in Contemporary Creative Practice at Leeds Metropolitan University; she is currently undertaking a Masters in fine Arts at Manchester Metropolitan University
